Licence — Free edition
This End User Licence Agreement (the "EULA" or the "Agreement") governs the use of the Lucerta software, Free edition. By using the Software, the Licensee accepts all of the terms below. Anyone who does not accept them must not use the Software.

What is allowed
- Free use of the Software, at no charge.
- Internal commercial use: using Lucerta to manage your own organisation's certificates.
- Use by MSPs and consultants on their customers' systems, as part of their normal service activity.
What is not allowed
- Redistribution or republishing of the images and material, including modified versions.
- Offering Lucerta (or a modified version of it) as a SaaS to third parties.
- Removing or altering licence or copyright notices.
Free edition limits
- Up to 10 registered agents, a fixed limit in the Software and not configurable.
- No Edge management.
- Provided "as is", without support and without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of this Agreement:
- "Licensor": the entity identified in Section 14, holder of the rights in the Software. As of this draft it is shown as "John Doe" (placeholder).
- "Licensee": the natural or legal person that installs, runs or uses the Software.
- "Software": the Core and Console container images of the Lucerta Free edition, together with the documentation material made available by the Licensor.
- "Free edition": the free, self-hosted version of the Software, subject to the technical limits in Section 3.
2. Licence grant
2.1 The Licensor grants the Licensee a free, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to install and run the Software, under the terms of this Agreement.
2.2 The licence includes:
- internal commercial use, to manage your own organisation's certificates;
- use by MSPs and consultants in the interest of their customers, as part of their normal service activity.
2.3 The licence does not include, and the following is expressly prohibited:
- redistributing, republishing or sublicensing the Software images or the documentation material;
- offering the Software, or a modified version of it, as a SaaS to third parties;
- removing or altering licence or copyright notices.
2.4 No other rights are granted, by implication or otherwise, beyond those expressly set out in this Agreement.
3. Technical limits of the Free edition
3.1 The Free edition allows the registration of a maximum of 10 agents. The limit is fixed in the Software and not configurable.
3.2 The Free edition does not include Edge management.
3.3 It is prohibited to circumvent, defeat, disable or modify the licence controls and the technical limits of the Software.
4. Reverse engineering
It is prohibited to decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Software, except to the extent mandatorily permitted by applicable law.
5. Third-party components
The Software includes open-source components distributed under their respective licences. An indicative list is published on the Third-party licences page. In the event of a conflict, the respective third-party licences prevail for those components; this EULA applies to the original parts of the Software.
6. Trademarks
No right to any "Lucerta" trademark, trade name or logo is granted to the Licensee under this Agreement.
7. Support
The Free edition is provided without support. Support is planned for the Enterprise edition (future).
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including, by way of example, fitness and non-infringement. The Licensor does not warrant that the Software will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, nor for loss of data or lost profits. The Licensor is further not liable for outages or malfunctions of third-party systems, nor for misuse of the platform.
10. Updates and versions
The Licensor may release updates and may change the terms of this Agreement for future versions of the Software. The version already obtained by the Licensee remains governed by the terms under which it was provided.
11. Term and termination
The licence terminates automatically in the event of a breach of this Agreement. In that case the Licensee must stop using the Software and dispose of the copies in its possession.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by Italian law. The court of the Licensor's location has jurisdiction, without prejudice to the court mandatorily provided by law for consumers, where applicable.
13. Acceptance
Use of the Software constitutes acceptance of these terms.
